UPSC CSE Kya Hai aur Kaun Kar Sakta Hai?
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination India ki central government ki sabse prestigious recruitment exam hai. Is exam ke zariye IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IPS (Indian Police Service), IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IRS (Indian Revenue Service) aur 20 se zyada Allied Civil Services ke liye selection hota hai. Yeh exam har saal teeno stages mein conduct hoti hai — Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, aur Personality Test (Interview).
Eligibility Criteria: UPSC CSE ke liye aapko kisi bhi recognized university se graduation complete honi chahiye. Age limit general category ke liye 21 se 32 years hai. OBC candidates ko 3 saal ki relaxation milti hai, SC/ST candidates ko 5 saal ki relaxation milti hai, aur PH candidates ko 10 saal ki relaxation milti hai. Maximum attempts general category mein 6 baar, OBC mein 9 baar, aur SC/ST ke liye unlimited hain (age limit tak).
Exam Pattern — Prelims: Preliminary exam mein do papers hote hain — General Studies Paper-1 (100 questions, 200 marks, 2 ghante) aur CSAT Paper-2 (80 questions, 200 marks, 2 ghante). GS Paper-1 ke marks merit mein count hote hain jabki Paper-2 qualifying hai jismein 33% marks mandatory hain. Dono papers mein 1/3 negative marking hoti hai. GS Paper-1 mein Current Affairs, History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Environment, aur General Science se questions aate hain.
Exam Pattern — Mains: Mains mein 9 papers hote hain jisme se 7 papers merit mein count hote hain. Indian Language Paper aur English Paper qualifying hote hain (300 marks each). Baki 7 papers hain: Essay (250 marks), GS-I (250), GS-II (250), GS-III (250), GS-IV Ethics (250), aur 2 Optional Papers (250 each). Total 1750 marks ki merit list banti hai Mains ke liye.
Optional Subject Chunna: Mains mein optional subject ka chunav bahut important decision hai. Popular optional subjects hain: Public Administration, Geography, History, Sociology, Political Science, Anthropology, Psychology, Hindi Literature, Economics, aur Mathematics. Apna optional woh chunein jisme aapki genuine interest ho aur jisme material easily available ho.
Interview (Personality Test): Mains qualify karne ke baad UPSC Board ke samne Personality Test hota hai jo 275 marks ka hota hai. Board aapki mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest, ability for social cohesion, leadership aur intellectual and moral integrity ko assess karta hai.
Final Merit aur Allotment: Final merit list Mains (1750) + Interview (275) = 2025 marks pe banti hai. Service allotment merit, preference, aur vacancy ke basis pe hota hai. IAS sabse preferred service hai aur iske liye sabse high ranks chahiye hoti hain — typically top 80-100 ranks. IPS ke liye top 200 tak ki rank generally sufficient hoti hai depending on vacancy.
