RRB Section Controller Age Limit (As on 01 July 2026)

Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
  2. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
  3. Document Verification (DV)
  4. Medical Examination

Only candidates qualifying each stage will be considered for the next stage.

Exam Pattern

Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • Total Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 120 Minutes

Subject-wise Distribution

  • Analytical & Mathematical Capability – 60 Questions
  • Logical Capability – 20 Questions
  • Mental Reasoning – 20 Questions

Negative Marking: One-third (⅓) mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

Normalization will be applicable if the examination is conducted in multiple shifts.

Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

Candidates shortlisted in the CBT will be called for the CBAT.

  • Minimum qualifying score: T-Score of 42 in each aptitude test battery.
  • No negative marking.

Final Merit

The final merit list will be prepared based on:

  • 70% Weightage of CBT Marks
  • 30% Weightage of CBAT Marks

Candidates will then undergo Document Verification and Medical Examination.

Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Level 6 of the 7th CPC.

  • Basic Pay: ₹35,400 per month
  • Estimated In-hand Salary: ₹50,000 to ₹55,000 per month
